My artistic heart has always been connected with our animal kin. Animals are my teachers, wherever the school may be. I learned profound lessons while I worked with chimpanzees and orangutans as a zookeeper (more patience, less ego!), and all animals continue to teach me, as long as I open my soul and become still. They live with a stillness in the moment that challenges every part of me as a photographer. If I’m truly paying attention by being “still in the moment”, they will gift me with a particularly artistic insight; artistic meditation. They are my spiritual and animal art collaborators.

I witnessed, as well as experienced, the amazing work relationships that are created between zookeepers and the animals in their care. I understand the world of animals, and particularly the fact that, like us humans, each and every animal has a unique personality. This bond is very strong between “The Cat Whisperer” Mieshelle Nagelschneider and Jasper.
No surprise there; Mieshelle is a cat behavior specialist and is very good at it. Jasper has a low-key personality and is extremely intelligent. After their “mindmeld” they played; a photographer’s dream session!
One look at Sofia The Cat and I knew that she demanded poetry along with her photography. Fourteen years old and still a hunter. Her “Significant Person” wanted beautiful images of Sofia being Sofia, including poetry. I followed her as she crept into the garden. When she became still I could imagine the hapless prey without a clue about its fate!
Your pet photography session rate is $225 and includes:A pre-session “Getting to Know You” visit with you and your animal kin at the location you’ve chosen for the session.
No studio lights to interfere with your pet’s authentic experience; your session will be relaxed, fun, and REAL for both humans and animals!
Your selection of 6 favorite images from your session will be finessed in Photoshop and prepared for printing. The professionally edited images from your session will be included and will be sent to you on a CD.
For an additional fee you may select an image to include a custom poem, based on your pet’s unique personality.
